Macino

Frequently Asked Questions

What is Macino?

An independent revival of Camino’s native Mac interface, with WebKit inside. A little nostalgia, on a current Mac.

Does it run on Intel?

The application builds for both Intel and Apple silicon Macs. It requires macOS 26 or later.

Where are my bookmarks?

Choose Bookmarks → Show All Bookmarks. The normal profile folder is ~/Library/Application Support/Macino. See Bookmarks and Moving from Camino.

Can I use old Camino plug-ins or extensions?

No. Macino uses WebKit, so Gecko plug-ins and extensions do not carry over.

Does it have private browsing?

Not currently. Separate profile folders do not isolate preferences or website data. See Privacy and security.

Does it support RSS?

Macino recognises HTTP and HTTPS feed links and hands them to the feed reader registered on your Mac. It is not a built-in feed reader.

Will it update automatically?

Automatic updates are not currently implemented. See Updating Macino.
